For most things 25 people is pretty practical but I'm working on two class projects right now with groups of 35 people and this was a big bummer. It would be so helpful!
Interested in using this for "Neighborhood Watch." A group size of 50 or 100+ would be helpful. Only 1 to 3 people would be posting messages at a time, but it would broadcast to a large number of members
My fraternity is off campus, and coordinating rides to/from has been much easier with GroupMe (especially using the map) but not everyone is able to join the group. Just doubling the limit to 50 would cover most reasonable groups.
Our church is using it for last minute info like meeting canceled, or bad weather update. So we need a way to text one number and it go to 2 or 3 groups, or a group size of 100. This would be very helpfull in the Lords work!!
I'm a member of a fire department. With many organizations involving emergency services, there is a great demand in keeping touch with all the members including those in the Fire Department, Police Department & EMS. A 25-person limit wouldn't be enough. I believe if you had a limit somewhere in the range of 50-100 people per group would sound more reasonable. I would hope you can update the application to accept those parameters.
@GroupMe Any plans in the near future to give the ability to have groups larger than 25?
Add another request for this. I'm part of a church that uses it just to keep in touch during the week, and organize impromptu get togethers.
Would love to be able to use this to communicate to parents of my son's hockey and baseball teams. However, it looks like we'll need about 30-35 users in the group to allow for both parents and coaches.
I need 135 for my volunteer rescue group.
Currently, there are no plans to expand the default group limit beyond 25, largely because of the potential for spam and abuse of the service.
That said, we're always willing to raise group limits for responsible users—just send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or submit a request on this site (above) and we'll talk to you about it.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to look for another solution.
I am hoping to use GroupMe to send out announcements/alerts to the players and parents of a youth sports team. I would need to add ~50 members to the group.
Hey Rob,We'd be happy to do that—just send an email to email@example.com and we'll help you out. #)
I sent an email requesting to increase our group size. we use it for our youth football team. How long will it take to receive a response?
Dear GroupMe, your service is absolutely wonderful. Our college's Freshman Council is hoping to use this service as it's primary means of communication, however we have 30 members and it seems as though 25 is the limit for groups. Could we possibly get it raised to 30? If so, that would be incredible.
I sent an email, but I wanted to post on here just in case that would speed things up.
I would love to be able to use group me to get reminders and events out to my sorority sisters, however we have 46 girls in my pledge class and the group limit is 25. I don't want to have to divide the girls into two groups not allow people to get a hold of everyone because we always have last minute things that pop up and its really hard to let everyone know about them.
Would love to do a bigger group - we have sports parents that would be groups of up to 80.. Maybe a sliding price scale if groups are over 30?
I am fully agree!!!! pls make the group up to 50 is better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Larger than 50 or 100 Broadcast group sizes would be really helpful. When invited, could include directions on unsubscribing to prevent spamming. Like reply to this number with "unsubscribe"
Thanks for your input! Just wanted to let everyone know that we are taking these notes seriously and discussing an option for larger groups. We just want to make sure we do not compromise the GroupMe experience in doing so. Stay tuned for updates! #)
As always, we're always willing to raise group limits for responsible users—just send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or submit a request on this site (above) and we'll talk to you about it.
I am the manager of a sales team at work and we've got 28 people... so close! Just bump it up a little bit please!
I have 30 and 31 members in my groups. I'm on Android. whats everyone else using?
Hi Nick and Jorge,
I would be happy to raise the limits of these groups for you! Can you email me at email@example.com? Make sure to include the group phone number! #)
Hello Julia and Steve,
I had sent a email, I hope you can give me a favorable reply. thanks
I absolutely love GroupMe. I've search the internet for an alternative with lager groups and nothing out there even comes close to GroupMe. Our church have a prayer team that uses GroupMe, but the limit does not allow for more to be added.
at least 60 for sorority
Our neighborhood watch group needs 35, expected to grow to 50 or so. We would use it for alerts and emergencies only. Has Groupme gotten back to anyone or addressed this kind of concern?
as we mentioned a few times above, the default limit is still 25, but we're happy to give groups a limit higher than 25—just email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
Has anybody had their group size increased over the 25 limit? If so how much was it increased?
Please increase my group limit. I have sent a request in already.
The default limit is now 50. Let us know if you run into any problems or have any more questions. #)
Hey Ian, That is because the new default limit for groups is 50! #)
Thanks for increasing the group limit to 50. Precisely because of this change, I have persuaded my whole group of nearly 40 friends to switch over from Whatsapp.!
We need a Group for our Team-Member of a Website to coordinate. We are 35 and grow up. 50+ PLEASE!
Oh Sorry! You have make 50... this is my way!!! Thanks!
Thanks a lot for increasing the group limit to 50. GroupMe is the best application so far.
We need a group size of 200+ in order to send message about advertising that we will be doing.
I am currently trying to find a text messaging system that would work for around 300 people for a marching band. It would be GREAT if GroupMe could do this!
I just graduated business school. there are about 200 of us staying in the city. we LOVE GroupMe, but need the group capacity to increase so that we can all be on it. it is an amazing application, but I need to be able to send to the entire group. How can I make this work?
