GroupMe gives you the choice to mute the notifications of a specific group or all of your groups.
Mute a specific group:

Go to the group chat you want to mute.

Select the group's avatar (profile picture).

Select Settings

In the Notifications area, choose how long you'd like to Mute the group.
Mute all of your groups:

Select Settings
-
In the Notifications for all chats area, select the amount of time you'd like to mute all chats.
Mute a specific group:

Go to the group chat you want to mute.

Tap More options
-
Tap Mute.
-
Select the amount of time you want to mute the chat, then tap OK.
Tip: From the Chat tab, tap and hold the group name, then tap to turn Mute 
Mute all of your groups:

Select the Profile and Settings
-
Tap Settings
-
Select Turn off all notifications and choose how long you’d like your groups to be muted.
Mute a specific group on iPhone:

Go to the group chat you want to mute.

Tap the group's avatar (profile picture).

Tap Mute, then choose how long you'd like to Mute the group.
Tip: From the Chat tab, swipe left on the group name and select Mute
Mute a specific group on the iPad:

Tap the group you want to mute.
Note: If you don't have the list of your chats, select Chat at the top of the screen.

Swipe left on the group name in the Chat list then select Mute.

Tap Mute, then choose how long you'd like to Mute the group.
Mute all of your groups:

Select the Profile and Settings

Select Settings
-
Select Pause notifications and select how long you'd like to pause notifications.
Mute a specific group:

Go to the group chat you want to mute.

Select the group's avatar (profile picture).

Select Mute and choose how long you'd like to Mute the group.
