Why am I not receiving my GroupMe notifications?

There are a few places to check your notification settings.

Within GroupMe:

GroupMe App > Notification Settings

  1. Select the Settings gear.
    • on Android and iOS tap the menu button (three vertical lines) first.
  2. In the Notifications section, check that notifications are toggled On.

In a specific Group > Chat Settings

  1. Select the chat header from the top of your chat.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Verify that Mute is toggled Off. If notifications are muted then you will not receive any alerts for this group until you turn Mute Off.

Mobile Device Settings:

On iOS

  1. Go into your phone's settings, tap Notifications > GroupMe and ensure Allow Notifications is on.
  2. Choose your additional notification preferences from the options.
  3. Log out of the GroupMe app, then log back in. 

On Android

  1. Go into your phone's settings, tap Sound & Notification, then under Notification & others, tap Notification.
  2. Tap App notifications and in the app list, scroll down and tap GroupMe.
  3. Choose your notification preferences from the options.
  4. Log out of the GroupMe app, then log back in.
