How do I share a document in GroupMe?

You can share a document in your GroupMe chats and easily find it again in your chat's gallery.

To share a document to your GroupMe chat:

  1. Click attach  Attachment button to bring up the gallery menu.

  2. Click Photo library  Gallery button.

  3. Click Documents, select the file you want from the document picker, then click Open.

  4. Click Send to share the file to your chat.

GroupMe supports the following document file types for sharing:

  • Microsoft Word (doc, docx)

  • Microsoft Excel (xls, xlsx)

  • Microsoft PowerPoint (ppt, pptx)

  • PDF documents (PDF)

  • Adobe Photoshop (psd)

  • Adobe Illustrator (ai)

Note: The document share limit is 50MB.

How do I find a document in a GroupMe chat?

When a document is shared to a chat, it's highlighted with a hyperlink. Click the link to download the document. You will be prompted to save the document to a location on your device.

If you want to find all documents that were sent to a chat, you'll need to go to the chat's gallery. Click the chat avatar, then click Gallery.

To share a document to your GroupMe chat:

  • On iPhone, tap the chat avatar, then tap Gallery  Gallery button.

To share a document to your GroupMe chat:

  1. Click Open to attach media content  Add button  to bring up the gallery menu.

  2. Click Share Photos and Documents.

  3. Select the file you want from the document picker, then click Open.

  4. Click Send to share the file to your chat.
