Why didn’t I receive my GroupMe PIN?

PINs can take up to five minutes to arrive, but if you’ve waited for a while and still haven’t received your PIN, it may be because GroupMe can’t send PINs to your cell phone carrier or internet phone service, like Google Voice. The good news is that GroupMe will work on these services once your phone number is verified.

How do I verify my number if I haven’t received a PIN?

No worries! Our support team can help you get verified quickly.

  1. Keep the GroupMe app on the PIN screen. If you go through the registration process again, it will generate a new PIN which could make things confusing.
  2. Shoot an email to support@groupme.com letting us know you’re having trouble receiving your PIN. Make sure to include your phone number!
  3. Once our team has helped you receive your PIN, enter it in the app to verify your number.
